Bato Dela Rosa Assures Leila De Lima’s Safety in Camp Crame

Senator Leila de Lima fears for the safety of her life once she is arrested.

PNP chief director Ronald de la Rosa offers the maximum detention facilities inside Camp Crame in Quezon Ciy.

DeLima shares the same compound together with the other two former senators she helped put in jail over the controversial pork barrel scam—Jinggoy Estrada and Bong Revilla.

It was recalled that the detention facilities currently being occupied by Estrada and Revilla were supposedly the quarters intended for the officers manning the Custodial Center.

The compound houses three separate jails—the third one was supposedly intended for former Senator Juan Ponce Enrile who was in turn detained at the PNP General Hospital and was later allowed to be freed on bail.

Bato thinks that it is one of the most secured detention center in the entire country because it is inside the Camp Crame, dela Rosa said.

He is offering that facility in order to give her the protection because she is a senator, he added.

De Lima was accused with three counts of criminal charges before a Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court in connection with her involvement in the proliferation of illegal drugs inside the National Bilibid Prisons when she was still the Justice secretary.

Senator de Lima fears suffering the same fate of slain Albuera, Leyte Mayor Ronaldo Espinosa, Sr.; adding she is ready to be the first political prisoner under the Duterte Administration.

Espinosa, it was recalled, was gunned down by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) headed by Supt. Marvin Marcos inside the Baybay City Jail where he was detained for drug charges and illegal possession of firearms.

The Custodial Center also served as a detention facility for Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and other high-profile personalities
