It was caused by the changes in her physical appearance, particularly, weight gain.

Postpartum depression is also called postnatal depression.

It is a type of clinical depression which can affect both sexes after childbirth.

Symptoms may include sadness, low energy, changes in sleeping and eating patterns, reduced desire for sex, crying episodes, anxiety, and irritability.

There area about 10 percent of new mothers develop PPD, but some experts believe the number is even higher because many women do not seek treatment.

If a new mother is struggling, she must see a doctor right away for a mental health screening.

If her doctor thinks she has depression any time after she gives birth, she may refer her to a counselor and prescribe antidepressant medication, if necessary, or refer you to a psychiatrist for treatment.

Whether she’s diagnosed with depression before, during, or after pregnancy, getting treatment is very important.

In the case of Toni, Mommy Pinty’s role was to lift her eldest daughter’s spirits but after four months of giving birth, the 33-year-old celebrity mom was proud to say that she is back to her pre-pregnancy figure.

She lost the 36 pounds she gained and her weight now is back to 100 pounds.
