Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittanaere Does Not Expect to Win the Crown

Iris Mittanaere, Miss Universe 2016 did not expect to win the crown.

Iris did not know that she would put an end to France’s 63-years title drought in the Miss Universe beauty pageant.

It is a big surprise for Iris that she always touches the crown on her head because she cannot believe it.

The people in France want beauty pageants but they do not really know Miss Universe because never had their country won in recent years, Iris said.

Prior to her winning the Miss Universe title, France’s last Miss Universe was Christiane Martel, who was crowned in 1953.

The French team does not change their training program and preparations this year.

Iris just really enjoyed the moment on stage and to her, it was the reason why she won the crown.

She was inspired to join the competition after she saw last year’s pageant.

She watched and said she wanted to do the same thing because she found that the stage was amazing.

Miss Universe 2016 Iris was inspired by Pia Wurtzbach and wanted to do what Pia did, helping people.

The 65th Miss Universe winner will be campaigning for education, as well as HIV/AIDS awareness.

She has the chance to go to school every morning and thinks every child deserves that, she said.

AIDS is a problem in every country and she really wants to ask all the people to get tested.

She has to do that not just for anybody, but for all the people that she loves, she added.

The extremely attractive Parisian received the world’s highest pageantry honors after the coronation with competitors Miss Haiti Raquel Pelissier and Miss Colombia Andrea Tovar, having the contest’s first and second runner-up positions, respectively.

Mittenaire is a 24-year-old dentistry student from Northern France, plans to use her new Miss Universe status to campaign for dental and oral hygiene on a global scale.
