Sen. Leila de Lima pushed her plan to leave for US on December 11, 2016.
De Lima went to the US to receive an award and would also
go to Berlin, Germany to speak at the Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy.
According to her, she will stay there until December 22, 2016.
A lookout bulletin for de Lima was earlier issued by the Department of Justice but since the complaint against her is not yet with the courts, a travel clearance for Delima was issued by the Department of Justice.
Nevertheless, some groups staged a protest at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Sunday to prevent her from leaving the country.
De Lima earlier gave the assurance that she will return to the Philippines, along with her staff.
The senator hopes that her brief absence would provide a welcome relief and respite to her detractors and critics.
