Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said that the city will not be terrorized by the night market blast.
In a statement, Mayor Sarah called on all Dabawenyos to unite and to help each other rise from that senseless incident.

The police said 14 people died from the incident while 67 more or less people were injured.
They were all brought to the nearest hospital to the site, Southern Philippines Medical Center.
The Abu Sayyaf group had allegedly claimed they were responsible for the deadly blast.
All concerned units remain on high alert to avoid the repeat of the incident.
The Davao City mayor also reminded other officials to stay within the bounds of their official duties and asked them to be left in peace as she fulfills her job as the city mayor.
She then asked the citizens to be vigilant amid threats surrounding the city and advised them to report any and all suspicious activity, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
She expressed her deepest condolences to the families of those who died last Friday night and also reassured all of them, as well as the families of those who are injured that the city government would assist in all their needs for hospitalization, burial, funeral, and day to day expenses.
