The Bureau of Internal Revenue filed a P4.45-million tax evasion case against Zoren Legaspi’
Legaspi allegedly did not declare his true income in 2010 to 2012.
In 2010, Zoren declared an income of P6.79 million while in 2012, he declared P1.82 million.
But based on the findings of the BIR, the total income of Zoren in 2010 is P9.64 million while he earned P6.49 million in 2012.
He had a tax liability of P4.45 million since he did not declare his right income in 2010 and 2012.
Commissioner Kim Henares said that Zoren substantially under-declared his income tax by 42 percent in 2010 and 25 percent in 2012.
On the other hand, Zoren said he is willing to comply with the demands of the BIR.
He is also willing to cooperate with the bureau regarding his case.
Zoren believes the right taxes should be paid because it will help in the development of the country.
He is actually glad that the BIR brought their initial findings to the Department of Justice, so it means they are doing their job.
The actor-director added he loves his country and he will never evade any tax obligations.
He then thanked those who sent their concerns to him and his family.
Zoren is the husband of actress Carmina Villaroel-Legaspi.
